Swear Words on Public TV- can we stop this?
Print
I find it so amazing that liberals can get away with taking "God" out of public places, and yet we allow our public television stations to use the following offensive swear words...if you don't think they are bad...then why are kids disciplined in school for using them?

hell, damn

All reports were during Central Standard Time:

CBS is by far the worst in foul  language usage.  But ABC is not far behind them.
So I started a spreadsheet.  I don't watch television enough to catch everything inappropriate at inappropriate times, but at least it's a start.

During a Florida vs. Carolina football game in the fall of 2009, CBS used the word hell inappropriately.  "What the hell's going on here?" was said in a commercial for the show 48 Hours that aired at 3:27 pm.  During prime FAMILY watching.

On December 6, 2009, we were watching Extreme Makeover, Home Edition show, a good quality family show geared to helping people in need.  The Middle had a commercial on ABC at 7:30 pm, in the middle of the show  with the words, "damn snowman."

On December 27, 2009, at 7:55 pm   ABC
Sound of Music was on, a family movie.  "Best Damn Lawyers" had a commercial during the movie airtime.

And then again, 8:40 pm, "What the hell are you doing?"  during a commercial on ABC.

When is enough enough?

Please, government, put aside your differences for just a short while and take care of this before it gets worse.  Can we not have a "swear free time zone?"  where certain shows can air with no language concerns?

As a former teacher in a public schools, I know media plays a huge impact on the molding and shaping of our youth.  We can help them...by not encouraging these words!
