And we must tell you about our friend, Herb.

But to fully understand, we must take you back in time to the Christmas of 2005.

Our church, Fellowship Bible Church in Nashville, does a sponsorship type thing with the Nashville Rescue Mission. Each rehab program fellow at the mission is sponsored by a man or young man at our church. In December 2005, we sponsored a man, but because of school, Jeff was unable to go to the mission to give the gift in person and meet our "guy."

I am embarrassed to say that I can't even remember the name of the guy.

I remembered my friend, telling me that they had committed to pray for their guy that entire year.

So last year, December 2006, I promised myself that we would do the same for our our new sponsor program guy, Herb.
Jeff was able to go down to the mission to meet him and give him his gift and pray for him. Jeff came back from that visit totally psyched. He felt the Holy Spirit moving in him to not only pray for this man, but to take him to church, fellowship with him.

So we did. We took him to church numerous times, brought him back to the house. In June Herb graduated the mission and we felt the Holy Spirit calling us to further give our lives away by giving Herb a place to stay and get back on his feet. So, He now lives in our basement. He is such a neat guy. He loves the Lord and loves to worship Him by playing his guitar and singing with us.
