Last Day at Sea:

This is the last day at sea.
It seems that cruises take you back to infancy: eat, play, poop and sleep. Then you repeat the cycle all over again.

Mom accompanied Dad to the cigar lounge and a fine cigar, bought on board was smoked. Sorry Brad it wasn’t Cuban but enjoyable anyway.

We did make it to the Mexican buffet at 11:30 P.M. and feasted shamelessly. We paid for all that eating last night and this morning…burp.

Seas are a little rough
today. Swells of 5-6 feet and 30 knots winds are making the ship rock and roll a little. You do have to concentrate on walking straight. We took a 12 second .avi clip off the railing of our balcony to remember the rolling experience.

We attended the disembark seminar and found it interesting. There will be a U.S. customs declaration document that needs to be completed for tomorrow. We need to have the bags packed and in the passageway corridor tonight before midnight and that makes for some interesting planning for what to wear tomorrow.

Our steward and the dining staff have been outstanding. It will be mixed emotions to say goodbye. Stephanos has been wonderful with taking care of the stateroom. It seems like every time we leave he has been in straightening, placing fresh towels, putting fresh ice in the bucket, fresh glasses in the holders (including wine and water glasses), making the bed, making funny little animals out of extra towels, etc. He is a pro.

The chief waiter, Dio, and his assistant Felix are the best. Mom asked for soup and shrimp as appetizers, and it was no problem. On the formal night Dad asked for filet mignon and lobster and that was served efficiently and without a problem. Remember eat, play, poop and sleep.

We plan on taking the galley tour at 4:00 this afternoon to find out how 10,000 meals are served each day. When we’re at our reunion this summer preparing for eleven won’t seem so enormous in comparison. Speaking of reunion, it’s less than three months away!

Well this is the last message from sea. We hope y’all have enjoyed the news as it occurred. We’ll talk with you tomorrow via cell phone.

Love, Mom and Dad
