Jeff Johnson brings more than 15 years of experience with a broad base of expertise in technology, enterprise projects, business intelligence and business process analysis. Having served the US Navy and clients in logistics, healthcare, hospitality, printing, insurance, technology, infrastructure, transportation and other industries, Jeff applies a wide range of hands-on leadership skills and a keen understanding of how to lead many types of successful business-critical initiatives.  This experience has allowed him to excel in building the “bridge” between business and technology for organizations.  His entrepreneurial experiences have helped to fine tune his ability to adapt and do what’s needed to get the job done right, while understanding the bigger picture and keeping perspective on budgets and bottom lines. 


 


Excellent at managing teams, including multiple off-shore and remote teams, and directing efforts with multiple “moving parts,” Jeff is adept at multi-tasking and managing highly-diverse projects and teams.  He complements those abilities with significant experience in analysis, testing and technical documentation.


 


Jeff’s background includes several years consulting with Price Waterhouse and SAP America as well as being a senior corporate project/program manager for Federal Express.   It also includes entrepreneurial company management managing an IT consulting company, an internet software company and hotel infrastructure and communications company.  Jeff has provided leadership and technical expertise in SAP SD configuration, custom application development, infrastructure, and project management.  He has managed the transition of legacy systems to new enterprise solutions, designed, developed and project managed the merger of disparate billing systems, implemented logistics/supply chain applications, designed web/e-business solutions and several other types of projects.


 


 RELEVANT PROJECT & MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE


·        Outsourced CIO and ERP Project Manager for a transportation insurance company.  Primary responsibilities included managing the transition from a legacy system to an insurance industry focused ERP solution and managing all IT infrastructure support.  Project Management responsibilities included managing project plans, status reports, budgets. Additionally, this opportunity required operational process documentation and change management.  Data conversion activities were a significant component of success and including moving over 30 years of history from a non-relational antiquated custom C, Informix and Unix application to a fully relational ERP package solution running on a Sun Solaris, Oracle and Java platform.  Infrastructure management included a vendor selction process and finding the right company to outsource network support and PC Help Desk needs.  Continued CIO activities include ongoing management of the outsourced network and help desk support company, managing special projects, holding quarterly IT reviews, creating and/or designing special reports for business management or financial operations and improvement, developing and maintaining the long-term strategic IT plan and various other IT related activities as needed.


·        Partner and C.O.O for a high speed internet installations and hospitality infrastructure support company. Focused on the Hospitality Industry, such as Video/Cable TV Programming, Security Cameras, Phone/PBX Systems, Credit Card Processing, Local Phone Service offerings and other IT and Communication systems for hotels. Responsibilities included: managing all staff, technology support systems and service excellence. Additional activities included: business planning, marketing, sales process and strategic website management.


·        VP of Web Solutions for a web solutions company. Took a small revenue stream and built the opportunity into a profitable division of the company contributing positively to the corporate bottom line and adding viable diversity to the corporate portfolio. Direct functions and responsibilities included: strategic planning, hiring/building a team, marketing, business profit and loss, sales, project management, customer service, developing service offerings, overseeing product development, managing customer relations, defining requirements for custom applications and managing development, web design and sales staff. Additional management responsibilities include managing
contract resources and off-shore development and design teams.  Profitability was reached in just over a year with over a 10 times increase in recurring revenue over the past 2.5 yrs and continued exponential growth.  In less than 3 years profitability went from negative to break-even to over $100k in annual profit, while at the same time Revenues more than doubled each year


·        VP of IT Operations for an IT consulting company, specializing in custom software development and infrastructure management.  Managed all consulting resources and service offerings in the company which included: software development, network services (infrastructure), web development, IT staffing, strategic business consulting and project management. The consulting resources, at its peak included approximately 20 staff plus contractors, were broken into three teams with direct report managers and senior staff.  Through business strategic realignment, we reorganized into 3 divisions: Development, Network Services and IT/Strategic Consulting. Under these three areas all service offerings reside.  Significant additional responsibilities included account management. Specific job duties often shifted as business dictated, but consistently included, management of the staff, service offering development, account management, technical sales support, project management of both web and software development as well as network services, business planning, recruiting, and participation on the company’s executive leadership team.


 


Each division individually improved operational efficiencies and increased profitability as well as maintained exceptional customer service. Directly involved in recruiting process. As both a Microsoft and IBM partner, several technologies are used on a regular basis through our development practice and include: JAVA, VB, VB.NET, C#, ASP, ASP.NET, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, DB2, MS Content Management Server, Sharepoint, Lotus Notes/Domino, Exchange, DreamWeaver, Windows Server 2000/2003, MS Small Business Server 2003, Linux, and IBM’s Collaboration Tools (Quickplace and Sametime). 


 


·        Program/Project Manager for global tracking and shipping company. Managed an online invoice project for World Wide Revenue. Took over at a stage when project was perceived as going critical and was able to gather issues and manage the project back to a successful status. This project has now expanded to a re-design and new development effort bringing the code in-house where previously developed and managed by a vendor. The full system development life cycle process is being followed. Design requirements include single sign on and other security protocols as well as payment options such as credit card strategy/business rules and a variety of web enabled invoice display and management functions. This application supports a potential of 8 million users representing nearly $12 billion dollars of invoice processing with international expansion increasing invoiced revenue to nearly $20 billion annually.


·        Program/Project Manager for global tracking and shipping company, managed the merger of two internal customer master/ Accounts Receivable systems involving over one million accounts and $10 Billion of annual revenue. Consolidated $200 million in monthly accounts receivable balances and systems providing the opportunity for a single invoice between different operating companies, resulting in millions of dollars in annual savings. Directly and indirectly managed teams and sub-teams working on this project, which consisted of numerous people, including salaried, hourly and temporary employees. Designed and implemented a tracking and reporting database as well as an operational system to accomplish merger activities utilizing Visual Basic and SQL server database. Developed a Business Plan and provided initial project management for the “Bill by Company” corporate project which involved a major re-write of the billing systems and peripheral systems allowing customers to have multiple billing options on a single account number depending on the type of business being invoiced.


·        Project Manager for global tracking and shipping company, managing the Direct Link 4.0 installation and rollout, a proprietary automated EDI mapping and reporting system.  Worked closely with IT and Marketing project managers and assisted with implementation plans and customer IT system conversion activities. 


 


·        SAP Sr. Consultant for a global technology company. Led Business Process Re-engineering activities for SAP clients in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing and distribution industries. Managed SAP Sales and Distribution teams during full life cycle implementations. Developed project tracking/management solution for a pharmaceutical clinical trials company utilizing SAP’s Project Systems module and developed numerous financial, operational and managerial reports utilizing various SAP reporting techniques.  Led sales demonstrations and presentations for prospective customers, contributing to millions of sales revenue dollars in potential new business.
