Do I spend more on Publix?

How do you save money grocery shopping?

I used the comparison that was done Thursday, November 1, 2007.

You can see by looking at the chart that Publix is much higher on the cereal than both Krogers and Wal-mart.

Do I spend more on Publix?  Publix was also  $.60 higher on the cups of peaches and on something that is only a couple dollars, 60 cents is a pretty steep jump in price.

100 fl oz of All Free and Clear has an amazing range of prices.  While Publix and Wal-mart are pretty similar at $8.99 and $8.44 respectively, Krogers and Food Lion clearly saves you money on this product at Krogers price of $3.89 and $3.99 for Food Lion.

But don't give Publix a bad rep yet.  Publix had some 2 for 1 on some items that allowed for some nice sized savings. 

What I see happening at Krogers is they seem to jack up the prices for people shopping "without the card" and do you really save money using the Krogers card?  It seems to be the age old marketing design of making the consumer think their prices are on "sale" when it is actually the original price.

Keep an eye out on the advertisements and perhaps even keep a chart so you can familiarize yourself with prices.
