Day Two and Three               Day Four               Last Day

March 17

First Day at Sea

Embarkation:
Things went relatively smoothly.

We were delighted by the surprise we found in our room from our thoughtful children and their spouses.

Wow flowers, books and a bottle of Brut.

It was a very nice surprise. Thanks.

Mandatory Emergency Drill:
Mindy was right; everyone runs around with a life jacket on trying to find their station. Each life jacket has a letter A-F. You have to be with all the F’s or you’re in trouble. We called it the Chinese fire drill at sea.

State Room:
Very nice looks out over the starboard side and has a veranda. Yes dear I can kiss you on the veranda.

Dining Room and the 1st meal.

It was very nice. Food was good and presentation was excellent. Met some interesting folks at the first seating (5:45). Most were retired and talked about how many cruises they had been on and where they had been.

First night:
A little bit of sway due to choppy seas. It made going to the bathroom in the middle of the night quite challenging. Sleep was good and the rolling motion rocks you sleep.

Cabin Steward:
Stephanos is very nice and extremely helpful. The comforter was too warm and he brought and extra blanket this morning that should be fine the rest of the cruise.
Choice of port-of-call tours:
Tough decisions.
We’ve picked snorkeling at Grand Cayman tomorrow and Mayan ruins and jungle exploration on Wednesday while in Calica.

Breakfast:

Another excellent meal. Mom had her eggs benedict. Coffee was great.

Side note:
Glad to see that Vandy made it to the sweet 16 and Ohio State barely made in past Xavier. We are able to watch TV and the March madness all that we want.

More tomorrow after snorkeling.

Love, Mom and Dad
