Presently I have two kids who "All they want for Christmas is their two front teeth."
Both Walter and Carrie have lost their first teeth this year. (Walter top two, Carrie bottom two) It's quite a sight. |
 |
SCHOOL Carrie started kindergarten and Walter is in the third grade. Both kids are doing very well. We celebrate Carrie's "purple" (great) days with princess parties and we celebrate Walter's grades by rewarding him with quarters. Both incentives are still working, hallelujah! |

HOBBIES
Carrie played Tball softball in the fall of 2010. She was great! We learned she always knew where the ball was.
This spring 2011 she did dance and loved it. Since we have moved her dance studio is across town, so we are looking at the next "thing."

Baseball, Baseball, Baseball!
Walter did coaches pitch 2010 and spring 2011 and Jeff was an assistant coach for two seasons.
This fall we stepped up and Jeff was head coach and it was machine- pitch baseball. Although it was hard to learn at first, it didn't take Walter long to smack 'em and I am going to brag here when I say he was one of the top two players on our team.
He plays second base very well. He has a great awareness of how to make the best defensive play.
Walter is presently in his first season of basketball and learning what it means to be a "rookie" again.
Both kids have also taken a tennis class this past fall and it's been fun. So we've been "active" to say the very least!

Marathon Momma!
Instead of floating away in the Nashville flood (May 2010) - I (Mindy) was running another marathon. My craziest thing to date was to run the Nashville half (13.1 miles) one weekend and then the very next weekend run the Flying Pig Marathon (26.2 miles!) with my big brother, Brad. We always wanted to do a marathon together, and we did.
Now it's his turn to come down and do Nashville....but we may wait a few years and give our knees a break!

SPECIAL WEEKEND FATHER TIME
Jeff took each kid on their own father-kid weekend trip this fall and they all had a blast.
This tradition began when Walter started kindergarten. Jeff took Walter on a father-son camping trip before school.
This year we had a late start because of the move and transitioning to a new school, coaching baseball, etc, etc.
But Carrie reminded us (a lot!) that it was her turn this year to go as well because she started kindergarten.
So, Carrie got to have her weekend first. Jeff took her the weekend before Halloween and they had a blast. They went to a local farm for a fall harvest celebration and Carrie got to star in the magic show and feed animals and do many things that were right up her alley. A most memorable trip, indeed!
Jeff took Walter horseback riding on his weekend and Walter took some riding lessons. He now has cowboy boots and cannot wait to get back on a horse. He even impressed the trainer so much that she took one of her own ribbons off the wall and gave it to Walter to take with him. "He's a natural!" in her English accent made Daddy very proud.

MAN TRIP
Jeff went on an Alaskan fishing trip with his dad and brother summer 2010 and each brought back 100 lbs of salmon and halibut. Our garage freezer is still full!
Jeff and his dad and brother go hunting every fall right before Thanksgiving and this year they had 3 deer in 4 hours. I guess I'll learn how to cook venison!
Jeff took Walter the very next weekend on his very first hunting trip. We still have much to learn...like how to be very very quiet in the tree stand. But, he helped Walter have a couple shots with the big gun and I'd say this will be the first of many hunting trips to come.
4Truth Web Design Yep, we still have our website business, 4Truth WebDesign. It was a very busy year for websites, let me tell you. I took some classes and broaded my horizon with my knowledge of html and css- I used those to renew my TN teaching certification.
Check us out & let us know if you ever need website work! Current Website: www.4TruthWebDesign.com
New Website (should be finished by the end of January): www.4TruthWeb.com

MUSIC PROJECT! I am presently wrapping up a huge project- my first solo CD! It was my Christmas present from Jeff last year- totally sweet. There's nothing else like having a spouse that believes in you.
John Nanni is my producer from Three Creeks Music and he is doing an amazing job bringing these messages in song to life! I will let you know when it's finished!

RESCUE MISSION MINISTRY It's amazing the way God leads us in and out of certain areas of service for Him- we don't go down to the Nashville Rescue Mission anymore.
However, we still keep in touch with the two gentlemen very close to our hearts.
Monti is doing well. He is finishing his degree at Belmont. He is an amazing musician with beautiful messages of love and hope from our Savior and I would not be surprised if you find yourself humming his songs one day.
Garry is back to driving but with his new focus. He lives in CA, but we get to see him every now and then when he passes through Nashville.
ROLLING OFF FOR SOME DOWN TIME We are rolling off the MTSC (Middle TN Seminole Club) board where Jeff and I have served for at least 6 years each. And no, I never went to FSU but I married into it and they needed help with the treasurer position. But we are taking a much needed break to focus on our family and the website business.

JEFF Jeff is working at LKQ Automotive- (Like Kind Quality) as a Sr. Project Manager (for IT and Business Acquisitions). He has a fun team to work with and is involved in many challenging projects from this to that and then some. (Well, it doesn't sound hard when I put it that way.) He enjoys it and has more time for family than he has had in the past - not to say there isn't some travel and late nights, of course. :-)
NEW HOUSE (kinda) We have moved into the house that I (Mindy) moved into when I was 16. We are living with my parents for now and they will be moving to a smaller house where it's warmer (FL) in a few months. It is tight, but it can be lots of fun.
We are enjoying a flat backyard that we don't have to mow. (Common area/field behind our house) I imagine both kids will be on the neighborhood swim team in the summer. I hear it's THE thing to do. |
We hope 2012 is full of laughter and love brings many warm lasting memories.

We pray that you know the love of Jesus and know that He loves you so much that He died and blew the gates of hell away...for you. |
