Carrie
Carrie reminds me much of myself.
She has a difficult time sitting still and she loves to discover.  She will sing about just about anything.  But the thing that strikes me the most about her is her spirited side.  It's hard to tell this girl "no"- it really is.  If you sit her down and explain "why" and she understands it, she can be okay with it and move on.  But if she doesn't quite comprehend why I don't want her to do something, then it's just not good enough and ...well...that drive, that "get it done" attitude is a good thing, God has given her certain gifts...now if I can just teach her how to use those gifts wisely...

She started preschool/mother's day out last year at a nearby church.  Christ Church was where Walter went, and he had a good experience.  Carrie did well enough last year, but she definitely had issues laying still for over an hour.  This girl stopped taking naps around 2, so she definitely wasn't napping at 3!
She started her preschool, preK program this year there, 3 days a week- and after much stress and prayer, I took her to a new program somewhere else.  The teacher part of me knew it was time to change.  I didn't particularly like her teachers and the director was not able to do her job well, so it was not a good learning environment for Carrie.

That was very hard on me, because I felt like the mom of the "bad child" for about 2 months before finally realizing it wasn't just Carrie wasn't listening.  So God led me to another school where Carrie is doing well.  We went from a place where every third day I had a bad report about something to a place where the teachers know what they are doing.  I haven't had a bad report yet and she started in November.  She enjoys it there.

We went camping this fall.  It was my first camping trip since Jeff and I first started dating, I think.  And it was wonderful.  It was ridiculously cold for south Georgia and October, but it was fun.  and Carrie had a blast.  We found out she loves camping and did an amazing job listening.  I can't wait to do it more in the spring.
